The Revolution: A Manifesto

Category: Politics

Last Wednesday, I headed to Borders to pick up my copy of Ron Paul’s new book, The Revolution: A Manifesto.  Despite the book being officially released that day, it was not on the new release rack.  Despite the announcement that same day that the book would debut at #7 on the New York Times bestseller list, it was not found on any end-cap or visible place.  When I finally asked someone for assistance, I was brought to a cluttered shelf where I finally spotted a measly 2 copies, side-faced, amidst a ton of copies of Barack Obama’s, Audacity of Hope.  They also wanted $21 for it…the full retail value.

While Borders seemed clueless about this book’s potential, Amazon had sold enough copies to propel it to their #1 spot.  You’ve gotta love a free market that allows companies like Amazon to put companies like Borders out of business by sheer virtue of being so much more in tune with the needs of the customer.
